Alan Keyes and Rabbi Yehudah Glick at the 2019 HaYovel gala in Franklin, Tenn.
HaYovel was planning to hold its second annual gala in Franklin, Tenn., on April 30, but coronavirus restrictions made that impossible.
Instead, the group that promotes faith-based volunteering in Israel will have “Celebrate the Miracle,” a virtual event on April 30, starting at 10 a.m. Central. For those unable to watch at that time, the video will be available online for a limited time for those who register in advance.
There is no charge for the event. At the conclusion there will be a fundraiser to benefit HaYovel.
Tommy Waller, president and founder of HaYovel, will welcome about a dozen speakers. Rabbi Yehudah Glick, former Knesset member and president of the Shalom Jerusalem Foundation, which advocates for greater Jewish freedom to visit the Temple Mount, will be among the speakers. He was a speaker at the first HaYovel celebration last year.
A Christian United States-based group that was founded in Tennessee, HaYovel educates about the restoration of the land of Israel, and God’s promise of restoration to Israel. In the last 10 years, HaYovel has brought about 1700 volunteers to Judea and Samaria to harvest and prune vineyards and olive groves, helping Israel farmers during the busy seasons.
They have multi-week volunteer experiences, as well as one-day and four-day programs for those already visiting Israel.
HaYovel also provides educational experiences for those who want to advocate for Judea and Samaria, often referred to as the West Bank.
Jurgen Buhler, executive director of the International Christian Embassy of Jerusalem, will also speak.
The Land of Israel Network, which “broadcasts the truth and beauty of the land of Israel and the Jewish people” will be represented by hosts Ari Abramowitz, Jeremy Gimpel and Yishai Fleisher. Rabbi Tuly Weisz will represent online news sites Israel365 and Breaking Israel News.
AnaRina Heymann of Align With Zion, which “aims to assist pro-Israel supporters in understanding the eternal covenant and dynamic between G-d and His people, how it plays out in modern history, and to ultimately empower them in their support of Israel by aligning them with the true essence of Zion” will also be featured.
John Enarson, Christian Relation Director at Cry For Zion, which helps Christians understand their history with the Temple Mount and how it relates to biblical theology and the Jewish people, will take part, as will Sharon Sanders, co-founder of Christian Friends of Israel.
Also speaking will be Lars Enarson of Iowa-based Watchman International, and Yisrael Medad, retired director of educational programming and information resources at the Menachem Begin Heritage Center.
